About Matthew

Experience earned by building, not observing.

I have spent more than two decades managing, owning and growing trade-based businesses, navigating the same challenges that confront most business owners: winning work, building capable teams, improving systems, managing cash flow and maintaining profitability through growth.

That journey included helping grow a startup trade business into an operation producing more than $30 million in annual turnover. Along the way, I developed a practical understanding of what enables a business to scale—and what can quietly hold it back.

Today, alongside my ongoing business and investment interests, I am the founder of Growth Reset, a business mentoring and advisory practice helping owners of established trade and service businesses navigate growth, leadership and operational complexity.

“The best business advice is useful on Monday morning—not just impressive in a boardroom.”

Areas of Focus

Where experience meets opportunity.

My focus is on building stronger businesses, supporting business owners and identifying opportunities where practical experience can create long-term value.

01

Business Growth & Operations

Building scalable businesses through stronger systems, operational discipline, financial visibility and practical growth strategies.

03

Investment & Business Acquisition

Exploring opportunities to invest in or acquire established, profitable businesses with strong foundations and meaningful potential for sustainable growth.

Business Philosophy

Five principles I keep returning to.

01

Think long term

Good decisions compound. Build for enduring value rather than a short-term result.

02

Build great people

Businesses improve when their leaders create clarity, trust and accountability.

03

Create systems

Reliable systems reduce dependence on individuals and make growth repeatable.

04

Protect cash

Revenue creates excitement, profit creates confidence and cash creates resilience.

05

Keep improving

Small, consistent improvements are often more valuable than occasional dramatic change.
